It all started back in our first year of college. We were just two students navigating through life, attending classes, and trying to figure out what we wanted to do.
As fate would have it, we met, became best friends, and quickly realized that we shared the same dream — we wanted to do something different, something beyond the typical 9-to-5 job that awaited most graduates.
We explored several ideas, from small-scale business ventures to creative side hustles. But as college students with limited funds, many options were out of reach.
That’s when we stumbled upon blogging. It didn’t require much investment — just a domain name, hosting, and a desire to share something valuable with the world. For two broke college students, blogging seemed like the perfect opportunity to break into the world of entrepreneurship.
The concept was simple: write helpful content, bring traffic to your website, and monetize it through ads and affiliate marketing.
Someone once said, “If you can’t explain your business model in one page, it’s not a good plan.” And this was a plan we could explain in a sentence — that’s how straightforward blogging felt.
Excited and determined, we dived headfirst into this new world. We started researching and came across a renowned blog called ShoutMeLoud.
It was a treasure trove of knowledge for beginners like us. We printed out the entire website (yes, literally!) and spent weeks studying every post, trying to understand how blogging really worked.
We learned about Adsense, affiliate marketing, and how blogs could generate consistent income.
But here’s the twist: we had already launched our first blog before we even discovered ShoutMeLoud. In fact, we were thrilled to get our first Adsense approval!
Back then, we had no idea what we were doing, but we were driven by sheer excitement.
Unfortunately, like many beginners, we made a rookie mistake — we thought asking our friends to click on our ads would help us earn more. It did, for a short time, until our Adsense account got banned.
It was a hard lesson to learn, but one that shaped our journey.
This setback didn’t discourage us. If anything, it fueled our determination. We realized that success wasn’t about shortcuts; it was about learning, experimenting, and persevering.
So, we started again — this time with a deeper understanding and a commitment to doing things the right way.
From that point on, there was no looking back. We launched multiple blogs, each in carefully chosen niches.
Over the years, we’ve written thousands of posts, reached millions of readers, and built a thriving online presence. Our blogs have collectively garnered millions of views and generated thousands of dollars in profit. Below are our earnings for some of our sites with just placing ads on them.
Today, blogging isn’t just our profession; it’s our passion and a way of life.
We’ve gone from two college friends experimenting with ideas to running a business that supports us full-time.
And now, we’re here to share everything we’ve learned — the good, the bad, and the lessons that no guidebook will teach you.
If we can do it, so can you. Let’s thrive together.
